How is my data secured in the Phi app?

Your privacy and security matter deeply to us. We've designed our systems so that you stay in control of your data and it’s protected securely, so that AI works for you and your interests.

You control your data

• You can delete messages and conversations at any time.
• You can update or delete your account and all associated data.
• We will never sell your personal information.
• We do not train AI models on your personal data.

Strong security and isolation

• Encryption in transit and at rest using industry-standard cryptography.
• Your private chats and data are isolated in their own encrypted database, separate from other users.
• Our infrastructure is hosted on trusted platforms with role-based access controls and DDoS protection.

What we share with AI providers

• To generate responses, your message and selected context is sent to the AI provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic).
• AI providers delete this data, typically within 30 days (retention periods may vary by provider - OpenAI/Anthropic/X retain for up to 30 days while Google retains for up to 55 days).
• We carefully vet providers to ensure they meet our data handling standards.

Auditing and monitoring

• Internal access to sensitive data is restricted and logged for accountability.
• We use monitoring to detect and alert on unauthorized access attempts.
